Fans Are Outraged Over The Armor & Heels Hollywood Life

Instead of shouting “Go! Go! Power Rangers,” fans of the monster fighting teens were shouting “No! No!” when they say the new outfits. Instead of the spandex suits from the television show, the new costumes are “an alien costume that grows on [the Rangers,] that’s not man-made,” production designer Andrew Menzies told Entertainment Weekly. “You can’t win everyone over, but we are trying to appeal to a more mature audience and gain new fans.”

It seems “more mature” means giving the women heels and visible C-cups. What’s even more surprising is that while the male Rangers (played by Dacre Montgomery, 21, RJ Cyler, 21, and Ludi Lin, 28) are wearing some high-tech Adidas, Becky G, 19, and Naomi Scott, 22, will try to battle Elizabeth Banks‘ Rita in wedges!

“The female Power Rangers also wear heels because of course they do,” one upset fan wrote on Twitter, while another remarked how “alien technology” knew to give wedges to the women rangers. Other fans were just ready to ditch the new movie, wondering “who the f*ck signed off on” the decision. Some fans even brought up Star Wars and how Captain Phasma, a female warrior, proved that not all women need a titanium bra.

In addition to "breast"plates, the female Power Rangers also wear heels, because of course they do.

Why do the girl power rangers have breast plates now. Who the fuck signed off on that.

Of course in that new image of the Power Rangers, the Yellow/Pink rangers have heels.

I thought Captain Phasma showed us that a female character's armor doesn't need boob plates and heels. I guess the Power Rangers disagree.

I don't hate the new Power Rangers costumes, but I do find it funny that the "alien technology" knows which gender to give a heel.

Jeez. The new Power Rangers amour for the females has boob armor and high heels. That's not sexist at all 😒 pic.twitter.com/ugGnvPOxXZ

While fans blasted the sexist suits, Becky G was actually excited about it. “It’s the coolest costume ever,” she told EW. “I’m gonna wear it for Halloween for, like, five years.” She might be the only one, if these upset fans are any indication. Power Rangers will debut on the big screen on March 24, 2017.

What do you think about the new Power Ranger suits, HollywoodLifers?
