She comes from a family of classical vocal singers.
She was 7 years old when she first aspired to become a singer.
Between 2010 and 2011, Luna appeared in the comedy reality television show, Star King, for which she won the SBS Entertainment Award in the “Best Newcomer in a Variety Show” category.
On May 31, 2016, she released her first extended play, Free Somebody, which was ranked at number #3 on the US World Albums (Billboard) chart and at number #5 on the South Korean Albums (Gaon) chart. It also got Luna nominated for the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Award for both “Best Dance Performance Solo” and “Song of the Year”.
